Hello, Comic Artists, Illustrators and Aspiring Creative Artists!

Welcome to Six Degrees.

This event is open to all comic artists and illustrators - professionals and hobbyists alike, as well as anyone who simply loves drawing and illustrating or wants to meet creative artists and pick their brain.

Come join us for an evening of sharing and mingling with the creative artists community!

Also joining us as our special guest will be Evangeline Neo from Evacomics.

Meihan Boey

It's been over twenty years since Meihan Boey started writing & publishing work! Meihan started writing freelance professionally in 1996, and became Vice President of ACAS (Association of Comic Artists of Singapore) in 2005 when it was first established. Primarily Meihan is a writer and editor for the Association. Since then Meihan have been involved in many projects, such as Supacross, Get Carter & Arena. Her commercial work includes tv, advertising and comic book scripts, for diverse clients such as Visa, P&G, Chips & Toon, Armour Publishing, the UN Human Refugee Council, and MOE.

The purpose of ACAS is to connect local talent with the right sources and resources, in order to encourage development of the industry.


Otto Fong

Otto Fong is the creator of the self-published bestselling comic series 'Sir Fong's Adventures In Science'.

Currently working in SynCTI (Synthetic Biology for Clinical and Technological Innovation), NUS, he is creating the sixth Sir Fong comic on Synthetic Biology. He was Science Fellow for the Centre for Quantum Technologies in 2015, creating "The Quantum Bunny" which was recently featured in the British Science magazine Viewpoint.

Otto was a science teacher for Raffles Institution. He has toured more than 100 schools promoting science learning with his popular assembly talks. The cartoon characters from his comic became a special line of bottled drinks for Asia Farm this year.

He wrote a widely-read column called 'Ottobiography' for The Independent.sg, and his article for Dear Straight People was also recently featured in HuffingPost. He wrote the first of two R(A)-rated plays in Singapore, two Arts Festival theatre plays and the adult horror novel 'Bitter Suites'.


Kristine Hakim

Kristine obtained her Diploma Design from Raffles Design Institute in Singapore before embarking on the journey to further her studies at the famous fashion school, Studio Bercot in Paris, France. She learnt professional haute couture embroidery from Lesage L’ecole de broderie and her millinery craft in London. Kristine has worked with French haute couture designer, Dominique Sirop and antique textile curator, Jennifer Shorto. She has also lectured in textile application techniques at Studio Bercot.

In 2012, Kristine started her own millinery brand, Ekspade. The following year, she opened her first millinery boutique at Mandarin Gallery in Orchard road, Singapore’s prime shopping area. She has designed and tailor-made hundreds of hats, headpieces and embroidered accessories for many international clients, performers and dancers.Over the years, Eskpade Millinery had done shows with Singapore Jewelfest, Singapore Step out, and various other fashion shows.

Her studio and showroom now is located at 33, Mohamed Sultan road, where she receives her clients.

She has also been working for NGO, Open Book, an open library based in Cambodia since 2011 and have illustrated 5 children's books.
